Bob Carr's stuff-up is not a sign of things to come

The funniest thing that happened last week in politics was Bob Carr suggesting that we might perhaps resort to sanctions against PNG if they did not hold elections in accordance with their constitution.

The golden-haired new boy had stuffed up in his first week on the job.

Other than The Blowfly, the only person who would’ve found it hilarious would’ve been Kevin Rudd.

But Carr will make up for it in his own inimitable way.

Make no bones about it he has already made his presence felt and there is more to come.
Carr has Abbott’s measure.

“All slogan, no substance.” Not to mention his quip about Abbott being a hypnotist.

In Cabinet, Gillard now has a very well versed and eloquent supporter whereas before she had, in Rudd, a competitor who would not give her a break.

And when you absorb the polls and realise that other governments have come from this position behind to win you will understand why the press is now looking for Abbott’s policies.

Australian’s are curious as to how he is going to repeal two major pieces of legislation and still create a surplus.

And they will get ‘curiouser and curiouser’ before the election!
